How a Passive House Can Fight Global Warming

Peckham Architecture’s commitment to deep green design means we don’t just employ these techniques for our clients: we live them. Our LEED Platinum Home office in COlumbia is Missouri’s first Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) Certified building.

The house performs at net-positive energy, which means that it produces more electricity than it consumes. We achieved this level of energy efficiency using Solar panels, super insulation, ERV (energy recovery ventilation), a tankless water heater, LED lighting and Energy Star appliances.

In episode 1 of our Green Building Series, Nick Peckham explains the global need for energy-efficient buildings. He also shares the advice from world-renowned inventor Buckminster Fuller that inspired Nick’s career in sustainable architecture.
